Informative Note – Entry into force of legislation (Corporate Sustainability Reporting)
The Various Laws relating to Corporate Sustainability Reporting (Amendment) Act, 2026 has been published. New legislation is now in force to regulate how companies report on sustainability matters.
Malta has published Act No. I of 2026, which amends various laws to integrate Corporate Sustainability Reporting requirements. This aligns Maltese company law with the latest EU directives on sustainability disclosures.
By virtue of Legal Notice 61 of 2026, specific articles of this Act have entered into force, mandating new reporting obligations for companies falling within the scope of the CSRD framework.
