Informative Note – Entry into force of legislation
The Various Laws relating to Corporate Sustainability Reporting (Amendment) Act, 2026 has been published. The Act introduces new standards for ESG reporting for businesses in Malta.
The MBR has notified the public of the publication of Act No. I of 2026, which amends various laws related to Corporate Sustainability Reporting. This follows the transposition of EU sustainability standards into Maltese law.
Legal Notice 61 of 2026 brings specific articles of this Act into force, establishing the legal framework for how Maltese companies must report on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors.
